1. SUMMARY/STATEMENT OF NEEDS
“OUR SITUATION CALLS FOR ACTION”
With decreasing budgets and ever-decreasing educational and programming services, our children
are in crisis. The results of this are that families do not know where to turn or to whom to
listen to regarding their child’s educational, emotional and career needs. The following
proposal addresses 1.The needs of families facing a declining and ever increasing ineffective
education system. A system, which is CHOOSING predominantly to emphasize the education of the
mainstream student. 2. Families living in a fast paced and ever increasing and changing complex
environment. The programs offer a Gestalt approach designed to teach and train parents and
children how to be more effective teachers, communicators, advocates and partners with each
other. The goal is to create a more harmonious and better-educated family unit.
GOALS
The Parenting Workshop represents an exemplary, “State of the Art” program designed to meet the individual
needs and plan for the individual needs of our youngster. It is a stepping stone program whose
goal is to teach parents the importance of being a teacher, a communicator, an advisor, and a
good listener. It is an advocacy program designed to teach parents how to be better PARTNERS
with their school so that their child is supplied with an educational program that meets his/hers
INDIVIDUAL academic and social needs. It is a comprehensive program that looks at the entire
picture in order to guarantee positive growth and well being.

1. Parent Support Teachings: These groups are designed to teach parents how to be better teachers at home. Sessions will include working with their own case studies, bringing issues to the table. Brainstorm solutions and develop hands on methods for managing behavior/social/academic issues. Teach parents how to be better partners with their children. Learn teaching skills on how to help their child overcome learning deficiencies. Support one another and develop positive ways to become more aware and responsive to the needs of their families. Allow parents to see the role models that they are and that once they shift in a key area that will generate a shift with their children.
2. Fitness Programs: Yoga/meditation classes as well as more conventional athletic and exercise activities designed to work with both mind and body. It is a proven fact that a regular exercise program can have profound effects on learning and behavior. It has been shown that exercise has led to improved attention span and impulse control with ADHD children. In addition there was a 50% reduction in classroom disruptions.
3. Nutritional Counseling: As part of the comprehensive picture each family will have the opportunity to see the positive results achieved when a healthy nutritional diet is implemented. Research supports extremely positive changes in academic and emotional performances when Glycoproteins and Essential Fatty Acids are included with a well balanced diet. In addition we plan to implement an Ayurvedic program which is designed to provide a healthy nutritional program and all around lifestyle.
4. The program will provide a paradigm for how to be better partners with your school and how to be a more effective communicator with your child.
5. The program will provide hands on techniques of how by just matching up our parenting styles with the temperaments of our children we can transform relationships within our families.
7. Counseling sessions will be provided to support the needs of the audience.

We must re-introduce the value of commitment to our son’s and daughters. Commitment to work diligently to achieve set goals.
Our work allows us to help parents develop as more positive role models and ultimately create a healthier and happier home environment.
It should be emphasized that the family is at the center of the workshop and that it is designed to assess and examine the
individual needs of each family so that they may learn how to hold their own space. Once this has been accomplished then you can pass
this sense of security down to your child. It comes in the form of increased self confidence and freedom in all aspects of their life.
